Melbourne Draw Varsity Challenge in 2015
The University of Melbourne (UoM) won all five games on the second leg of the Varsity Challenge, bringing the overall score for the series to five apiece. The tie meant that Monash University retained the Varsity Challenge trophy, a repeat of their inaugural win in 2014.
For the UoM matches marching band led spectators from all over the campus to the Sports Precinct on the Parkville campus, where UoM won all four of the matches - Mens and Womens Hockey and Volleyball.
The final game of the Varsity Challenge was Mens AFL, which was held at IKON Park (previously VISY Park). Over 100 students, alumni and VIPs were treated to a close game that ended with the University ahead by 10 points at the final siren.
The Varsity Challenge will return in 2016. Follow our Universities’ social media channels to get more information about upcoming representative sport at Melbourne and Monash.
